For the sixth time, researchers and developers of the ALTANA Group convened for the ALTANA Innovation Conference, which was held again this year in Wesel on November 13 and 14, 2013.
A principal theme for the approx. 160 international researchers from the four Divisions stresses how important core competences are for ALTANA. There can be no doubt that the innovative strength of the company enjoys a special significance. Innovation is for ALTANA the central key to further growth. Globally, every fifth employee works in research and applications engineering at ALTANA.
It was in this vein that the ALTANA Innovation Award was presented for the fifth time at a large ceremony. The award went this year to the ACTEGA Division. The coveted prize was handed over on the first day of the conference to the team of researchers comprising Frank Kamphuis, Tim Kammer, Marcel Altenburg and Timo Kondziela for developing special coatings for in-mold labels used for labeling plastic containers. The award is conferred for innovations that are technically outstanding and have positioned themselves successfully on the market.
